Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of digital tools utilization in improving project management efficiency in the pharmaceutical industry. The study employed a mixed-methods research design by integrating qualitative and quantitative approaches to obtain a comprehensive understanding of digital technology utilization and its contribution to project management performance. Qualitative data were obtained through structured interviews, direct observation, documentation, and a review of relevant literature, while quantitative data were collected through questionnaires administered to 51 respondents. The interview stage involved 50 informants who were directly engaged in project-related functions and therefore had relevant experience regarding project management practices and the use of digital tools. The findings indicate that the mean score of digital tools utilization increased from 2.70 to 4.40, while project management efficiency increased from 2.62 to 4.35. Furthermore, the correlation analysis revealed a positive and strong relationship between digital tools utilization and project management efficiency (r = 0.765; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the greater utilization of digital tools is associated with higher levels of project management efficiency. Digital tools facilitate communication, information sharing, task coordination, monitoring, documentation, and decision-making throughout project implementation. Therefore, the findings suggest that digital technology plays a significant role in supporting more efficient, integrated, and responsive project management practices in the pharmaceutical industry.
